The Friends of Thringstone Christmas fayre 2007
The Christmas fayre 2007 was a great success. The Leicestershire Mercury had this to say:

Torrential rain did not deter crowds who visited a Christmas gift and craft fair organised by the Friends of Thringstone.

More than 250 people attended the event held at the community centre.

Braving the weather outside was a fairground organ that lifted the spirits, a hot beefburger bar by Blackbrook Longhorns and birdboxes and tables offered by the Shuttleworth Clarke Foundation.

Inside, 20 stallholders presented their wares on two floors. Goods included fine wines, fresh meat, floral arrangements, and jam and cakes made by Thringstone WI. Whitwick Historical Group and St Andrew's Church ran stalls and many craftspeople had interesting gifts to offer.

Entertainment was provided by St Andrew's Church choir and Whitwick handbell ringers.

Friends of Thringstone chairman Nita Pearson said: "It is important to acknowledge the work of other local volunteer groups." The event raised £450, which will be used for the village.
